Past Continuous Tense, ad\u0131ndan da anla\u015f\u0131labilece\u011fi \u00fczere hem past hem de continuous kal\u0131plar\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6zelliklerini ta\u015f\u0131r. Yani olay hem ge\u00e7mi\u015fte<\/em> hem de belirli bir zaman aral\u0131\u011f\u0131nda <\/em>ger\u00e7ekle\u015fir. Bu kal\u0131b\u0131n tam T\u00fcrk\u00e7e kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u201c-yordum\u201d ekidir. Mesela \u201cgidiyordum\u201d kelimesi, gitmek eyleminin ge\u00e7mi\u015fte ger\u00e7ekle\u015fti\u011fini, ama belirli bir zaman aral\u0131\u011f\u0131nda s\u00fcrekli olarak yap\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6sterir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yani eylem hem s\u00fcrekli bir eylem olacak, hem de ge\u00e7mi\u015f zamanda ya\u015fanm\u0131\u015f olacak.           Bu durum asl\u0131nda daha s\u0131k kullan\u0131lan bir kal\u0131pt\u0131r. Bir olay devam ederken, ba\u015fka bir olay meydana gelmi\u015fse, devam eden olay\u0131 anlatmak i\u00e7in Past Continuous Tense c\u00fcmlelerini kullan\u0131r\u0131z.                   Ge\u00e7mi\u015fte ayn\u0131 anda ya\u015fanan iki olay bir s\u00fcre\u00e7 bildiriyorsa, iki c\u00fcmleyi de Present Continuous Tense ile olu\u015ftururuz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuous c\u00fcmle yap\u0131lar\u0131nda bir yard\u0131mc\u0131 fiil bir de fiilin \u201c-ing\u201d eki getirilmi\u015f halini kullan\u0131r\u0131z. Ama bu kal\u0131p \u201cpast\u201d oldu\u011fu i\u00e7in yard\u0131mc\u0131 fiil olarak \u201cwas\/were\u201d kullan\u0131r\u0131z.
